Book an appointment

YOUR APPOINTMENT

You can book an eye exam, Under-16 eye exam, supplementary eye exam, contact lens check or glasses collection here.

Please read the notes below. This is the easiest way to do this but if you are unable to get a time that suits, then please give us a call.

You are entitled to a free NHS Eye Exam at intervals depending on age or presence of eye disease. Your recall date will tell you when you are due, so please book your eye exam after this date. If you are not due, but have a problem with your vision or eyes, NHS Scotland will fund your eye exam.

If you are over 60 years old, then we will dilate your eyes (with your consent) to examine the back of your eyes more easily. If you are happy to have this done, then please come to your appointment without driving.

We allow 45 minutes to examine your eyes thoroughly. You can also benefit from our Optomap®, which takes a 200º Ultra-widefield image of the posterior eye. An OCT allows us to see deep into the layers of your retina amongst many other functions. These can help detect sight and occasionally life-threatening problems which may have no symptoms in their early stages. These are both optional as they are outside the scope of the NHS, but provide a more in-depth look at the health of your eyes.

TO BOOK

STANDARD EYE EXAM - Start by selecting if you are a new or existing patient and choose “Eye Examination”. Fill in all of your details and follow the simple steps to choose a time that suits you.

UNDER 16 EYE EXAM - Start by selecting if you are a new or existing patient and choose “Under 16 Eye Exam”. Children under 7 years old commonly need drops in their eyes. This requires a longer appointment time. It is best to call directly in this instance for further advice. Otherwise, fill in all of your details and follow the simple steps to choose a time that suits you.

SUPPLEMENTARY EYE EXAM - This is normally an eye exam in between your normal eye examination. This is normally when the Optometrist is monitoring some aspect of your eye health or vision. Start by selecting if you are a new or existing patient and choose “Supplementary Eye Exam”. Fill in all of your details and follow the simple steps to choose a time that suits you.

CONTACT LENS CHECK - If you are booking a contact lens check, then please come in wearing your lenses. Bring your glasses and a contact lens case with you, as you won’t be able to put your lenses in immediately afterwards. Please select “Contact Lens Check”, fill your details in and follow the simple steps to choose a time that suits you.

For a new Contact Lens Fitting, call us to make an appointment.

GLASSES COLLECTION - This will be under Existing Patient. Click on "Glasses Collection" to arrange a time to collect your glasses. If no time suits, then just call us to arrange this.

For emergencies and any other appointment (Home Visits etc.), please call us on 0131 449 6889. We look forward to seeing you soon.
